Talking about the melody of Shubho Shubho and its connection to its roots, Rani Mukerji said in a statement, “Being a Bengali, I am all for my roots and representation of my culture in mainstream Hindi cinema. It fills my heart that I have played a Bengali character in Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway and shown the spirit of a fierce Bengali mother in the film. What I really like about the film is that it tries to present the culture of West Bengal in various ways, including the sarees I wear, the way Bengalis celebrate Durga Puja, the way From I have spoken Bengali and even the songs are included. bengali songs, The touch of Baul music and the presence of Dhak (Bengali drum) and Shankh (conch shell) – which are intrinsic to Bengali folk music. It is commendable that music composer Amit Trivedi and lyricist Kausar Munir are not Bengali and yet they have shown such sensitivity to represent my culture and roots so brilliantly. Cinema today is all about synchronicity of cultures and traditions and I am proud that my film is showcasing the authenticity shamelessly.”
“I personally love and enjoy listening to all the songs in Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway. Amit Trivedi and Kausar Munir have done a fabulous job with the lyrics and the lyrics of this album.” “The lyrics of Shubho Shubho song are really special for the film. The word ‘Shubho’ is also the name of my character Debika’s son in the film – ‘Shubh’ means auspicious in Bengali. So indeed it is very special and auspicious for us to drop the first song with the word Shubho as part of the Mukhda!! As a Bengali, I am really happy to share a piece of my culture with all the Indians around the world through this beautiful song.”
